Last updated: August 12, 2026

NorthernKnife ("we", "us", "our") provides this Privacy Policy to describe how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal information when you visit northernknife.com (the "Site"), make a purchase, contact us, or otherwise interact with us (together, the "Services"). It also explains the choices and rights you have over your information. By using the Services you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. When you place an order, create an account, join our email or SMS lists, contact support, leave a review, or take part in a promotion, we collect information such as:

  • Contact details: your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, and billing address.
  • Order details: the products you purchased, order value, delivery selections, and payment confirmation. Payment card numbers are collected and processed by our payment processors (for example Shopify Payments, PayPal, Apple Pay); we never see or store your full card number.
  • Account details: your login email and password if you create an account.
  • Communications: the contents of messages you send our support team, reviews you post, and survey responses.

Information we collect automatically. When you browse the Site, we and our partners automatically collect information about your device and activity using cookies, pixels, software development kits, and similar technologies, including:

  • Device and connection information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and approximate location (city/state level, derived from your IP address).
  • Usage information: the pages you view, the site that referred you, search terms, how long you stay, items you add to your cart, and your interactions with our ads and emails.

You can manage these technologies at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page or through Cookie Settings.

Information we receive from other sources. We receive payment confirmations from our payment processors, delivery updates from our shipping and fulfillment partners, campaign performance information from our advertising and analytics partners, and engagement data (opens, clicks) from our email and SMS platforms.

How We Use Information

  • To provide the Services: process and fulfill your orders, arrange shipping, process payments and returns, maintain your account, and provide customer support.
  • To communicate with you: send transactional messages (order and shipping confirmations), respond to enquiries, and, with your consent, send marketing emails and text messages. You can unsubscribe from marketing at any time.
  • To advertise our products: show you relevant ads on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, and Pinterest, measure how those ads perform, and build audiences of people likely to be interested in our products (including matched and lookalike audiences created from hashed identifiers).
  • To improve the Services: analyze how visitors use the Site, test changes, fix problems, and develop new products and offers.
  • To protect the Services: detect and prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and comply with legal obligations, including tax and consumer-protection law.

How We Share Information

Service providers. We share information with companies that perform services on our behalf and may only use it for that purpose: Shopify (our e-commerce platform and hosting), payment processors, shipping carriers and fulfillment partners (for example UPS and our order-operations tools), customer support software, review platforms (for example Judge.me and Trustpilot), and our email and SMS providers (Klaviyo and Postscript).

Advertising and analytics partners. We share online activity data (such as pages viewed, items added to cart, and purchases) with advertising platforms including Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google, TikTok, Snap, Pinterest, Taboola, and AppLovin, and with analytics providers including Triple Whale, Northbeam, and Microsoft Clarity. These partners help us measure and improve our marketing and may use the information as described in their own privacy policies. Under some US state laws this activity is considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; you can opt out at any time on our Your Privacy Choices page.

Corporate transactions. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

Legal. We may disclose information when required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of our customers, the public, or NorthernKnife.

With your direction. We share information when you ask us to or otherwise consent.

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 18 years of age.

Your Choices

  • Email marketing: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. We will still send transactional emails about your orders.
  • Text messages: reply STOP to any message to opt out.
  • Cookies and tracking: open Cookie Settings from our Your Privacy Choices page (or the footer link on any page) to opt out of advertising cookies and the sale or sharing of your information.
  • Global Privacy Control (GPC): we honor the GPC browser signal automatically as a valid opt-out of sale and sharing in the states that recognize it.
  • Platform controls: Facebook, Instagram, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, and Pinterest each offer their own ad-preference settings if you want to limit personalized ads across all the sites you visit.
  • Account and requests: you can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you at any time (see "Additional Information for US State Residents" below).

How We Protect and Retain Information

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information, including encryption of payment transactions in accordance with PCI-DSS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We keep information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy: order and transaction records for as long as needed for tax, accounting, warranty, and legal compliance; marketing data until you opt out or unsubscribe; and automatically collected Site data for the retention periods of our analytics providers. When information is no longer needed we delete or de-identify it.

Transmission of Information to Other Countries

We are a United States business and process information in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your home country. If you visit the Site from outside the US, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the US and in other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, and visitors from regions with their own privacy laws (such as the EU and UK) may exercise the rights available under their local law by contacting us at the address below.

Third-Party Applications and Websites

The Site contains links to third-party websites and embedded third-party features (for example payment buttons and social platforms). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and this policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page, update the "Last updated" date, and, where required by law, provide additional notice. Material changes apply prospectively.
